Maryland Republican Party
During the 2024 Legislative Session, the Joint Republican Caucus presented an agenda of bills that would have cut state income taxes, increased penalties for violent crime, kept repeat violent offenders in jail instead of out on bail, held juvenile criminals accountable, gotten illegal guns off the streets, and returned critical tools to law enforcement.

This agenda was a comprehensive package of common sense bills to address the ongoing economic and crime crises that Marylanders are facing every day. Democrats in Annapolis chose to never give even one of these bills a vote, and went with tax increases and tweaks to our public safety laws instead.

To get these types of bills passed in Maryland, we need to elect more Republicans because Democrats are failing us.

With the 2024 Maryland Legislative Session complete, the MDGOP would like to take a moment to thank the Republican Delegates, Senators, staff, and thousands of activists across our state, who spent the last 3 months fighting for common-sense conservative bills, and against bad Democrat legislation.

Facing a Democrat supermajority, Republicans have limited power in lawmaking in our state, and unfortunately a lot of damaging liberal policies did get passed. However, we were able to fight off billions of dollars in additional proposed tax increases, and ward off many egregious bills that would have restricted Marylander’s personal freedoms. We did this while offering an alternative way forward, getting good policy passed, and holding Democrat leadership accountable to the public and the taxpayers.

We will be discussing the outcomes of this year's session extensively in the coming weeks and months. For now: thank you, Maryland Republicans, for fighting the good fight!
