📬 Change of Value Notices Have Been Mailed

Hi everyone,

I wanted to personally let you know that the 2026 Change of Value notices for real property have officially been mailed out across Sequoyah County.

I know receiving these can sometimes raise questions, so I want to take a moment to explain a few important things:

🔹 This notice is not a bill — it only reflects your property’s value.
🔹 The County Treasurer will send tax statements later this year.
🔹 Increases in value are typically due to things like:
• Buying property
• Building or improving structures
• Changes in the local real estate market

Our office is required by state law to appraise property at fair cash value, and we work hard to make sure those values are accurate and fair for everyone.

đź—“ If you have questions or concerns, you have 30 days from the date on your notice to file a protest. Instructions are included on the back of your letter.

Most importantly — please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. My team and I are here to help walk you through your notice, answer questions, and make sure you understand your value.

We appreciate the opportunity to serve you all.

📢 Personal Property Rendition Deadline Reminder

A reminder to Sequoyah County taxpayers that Personal Property Renditions are due by March 16 to avoid penalties.

If you own a business, rental property, farm equipment, or other taxable personal property, state law requires that a rendition be filed with the County Assessor’s Office each year.

Renditions may be:
• Mailed to the Assessor’s Office
• Dropped off at the office during regular business hours
• Returned by email to the Assessor’s Office

If no changes have occurred, taxpayers may simply verify the information on the form that was mailed to them, sign it, and return it.

If you have questions or need assistance completing your rendition, please contact the Sequoyah County Assessor’s Office. Our staff is happy to help.

Thank you for your cooperation.
