During a disease outbreak, epidemiologists collect and analyze information about who is sick, when they became sick, and exposures they may have had before becoming sick to determine where, when, and how each person may have become infected. Then, they translate this information into recommendations for prevention and control measures.

The primary function of the infectious disease epidemiology team is to cover investigations and surveillance across Oklahoma for reportable diseases https://brnw.ch/21x2SMf.
For more information on the field of epidemiology visit https://brnw.ch/21x2SMe.
