This year, Utahns across the state have shown that they want leaders who respect the will of the people and are focused on accountability and transparency. Good news! Lawmakers have decided not to move forward this year with another proposal that would have made it harder for Utahns to use the ballot initiative process.

Thank you to everyone who spoke up and helped persuade lawmakers to step back from this proposal.

But the fight isn’t over.

Legislative leaders have said they’ll continue pursuing this issue in the courts, and Utahns will still vote this November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would make it harder for certain citizen initiatives to pass.

As long as these threats remain, we’ll continue fighting to protect Utahns’ constitutional right to use the ballot initiative process.
