🦃 The Turkeys Came to Visit Park Lane! 🦃
Our residents at Park Lane Senior Living had some unexpected—and very entertaining—visitors this Saturday! A few wild turkeys decided to stop by and hang out right out front, giving everyone a front-row seat to some feathered fun. 😂
Residents enjoyed watching their surprise visitors strut around, flap their wings, and eventually make their way across the street.
And when it was time to help our fine-feathered friends get to safety, our Activity Assistant, Sarah, and one of our residents’ private aides, Bradlee, sprang into action and chased those turkeys safely across the street! 🏃‍♀️🦃🏃‍♂️
Of course, the real-life pictures tell the story… but we couldn’t resist having a little fun with AI and creating a picture of what we imagined the great turkey chase looked like! 🤣📸

🎨🖼️ Park Lane residents enjoyed a colorful adventure at the new Salt Lake Art Museum, Utah’s first museum dedicated entirely to Utah art and artists! ✨🏔️

The art was only part of the experience—the museum is housed inside the beautifully restored historic Temple B’nai Israel. Built in 1890, it is the oldest surviving synagogue in Salt Lake City and once served as an important place of worship and community for Utah’s Jewish residents. 🕍📚 What an incredible combination of art, architecture, and local history!

We explored an amazing variety of exhibitions, including Albert Bierstadt’s breathtaking Utah landscapes, the Collector’s Gallery, Celebrating Temple B’nai Israel, Love in Landscape: 360 Billboards and Julia Reagan, and Pilar Pobil’s colorful exhibition, The Beautiful Land of My Reality. 🏞️🎨💐

The most special moment came when one of our residents excitedly shared that she had personally met Pilar! She even showed us a treasured photograph of the two of them together. 🥰📸 Suddenly, the artwork felt even more personal—and we had our very own Park Lane connection to Utah art history!

🌧️☔ Rain and strong winds may have delayed our High Adventure outing, but it certainly didn’t cancel the fun! 🚌✨

After consulting Peter, the son-in-law of one of our residents, a real-life meteorologist and our enthusiastic unofficial Park Lane weather expert 🌦️😂, we decided to stay close to home and visit The Other Place Restaurant!

Our residents braved the rain and enjoyed a delicious selection of Greek and American food 🥙🍔🍟🍽️ Sometimes plans change, but that’s okay—we know how to pivot, keep the adventure going, and make the day even better than it might have been in bad weather! 💃🕺🎉

High Adventure may have been delayed, but great food, wonderful company, and plenty of laughs saved the day! 💙☔

We have some amazing people on our Park Lane team, and we love getting the chance to celebrate them! ❤️👏

A big congratulations to two of our recent Employees of the Month — Olga and Hana! 🎉

Olga is one of the newest members of our housekeeping team, and she has already earned Employee of the Month! How amazing is that?! 🌟 She jumped right in and has already made such a great impression. We’re so happy to have her at Park Lane!

Hana has been with us for a year as one of our wonderful servers. 🍽️❤️ She works hard, takes great care of our residents, and is such a great part of our kitchen and dining team.

Congratulations, Olga and Hana! Very well deserved! 🎊 We appreciate everything you both do to make Park Lane a great place to call home.

🦈🚨 SHARK ATTACK AT PARK LANE! 🚨🦈

Our friends at Cornerstone Caregiving LLC surprised us with a SHARK ATTACK! 😱🌊 Thankfully, we’re happy to report that everyone survived… although there were a few close calls! 😂🦈

Dina was on duty as our very brave lifeguard 🛟😂, handing out fun goodies and doing her best to keep everyone safe! Meanwhile, one VERY suspicious shark was on the loose… 👀 It may be hard to tell from the photos, but Maria was actually inside the shark suit! 🦈🤣

We screamed, we laughed, we survived—and honestly, the shark never stood a chance against this crew! 🦈💪🤣

Thank you to our friends at Cornerstone Caregiving for always bringing the fun and keeping us on our toes! 💙

🃏♠️♥️ There’s always a seat at the table at Park Lane! ♣️♦️

Our residents enjoy many different card game clubs, offering plenty of opportunities to play an old favorite, learn something new, and spend time with friends. Participation is always a resident’s choice—some come for the friendly competition, some for the brain stimulation, and others simply enjoy the laughter and conversation! 😊🧠

Sometimes our staff even join the fun! Our residents recently taught our Activity Assistant Sarah one of their favorite games—and they completely stumped her! We think she may need a few more lessons before she can compete with these card sharks! 😂🦈🃏

Independent living is all about having the freedom to choose how you spend your time while enjoying opportunities to connect, build friendships, and have fun together. Whether residents join every week or only when the mood strikes, everyone is welcome to pull up a chair and play! 🎉

💙🌎💙 CELEBRATING BLUE ZONES AT PARK LANE! 💙🌎💙

What an AMAZING afternoon celebrating our monthly Stellar Event! 🎉🥳✨ This month, we explored the Blue Zones — places around the world where people are known for living longer, healthier lives! 🌎💙🌿☀️

🔵 FUN FACT! Why are they called Blue Zones? Researchers Dr. Gianni Pes and Dr. Michel Poulain were studying longevity in Sardinia and used a blue marker to circle areas on a map where people were living exceptionally long lives. Those blue circles eventually inspired the name “Blue Zones!” 🗺️🔵✍️

One thing all of the Blue Zones have in common is something we LOVE at Park Lane… SOCIAL CONNECTION! 🥰🤝💙👯‍♀️👯‍♂️

As we get older, staying socially connected can sometimes become more challenging — so what better way to celebrate the Blue Zones than by highlighting the incredible friendships, relationships, and sense of belonging we have right here at Park Lane! 🏡💙✨

And we had some very special friends join the celebration! 🎉🙌 We were delighted to welcome former Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson, along with our wonderful friends from The Other Side Academy (TOSA)! 💙🤝🌟

There was plenty of conversation, laughter, friendship, and togetherness — exactly what a Blue Zones celebration should be! 💬😂🥰🎊🌎

🦈🌳 Just when you thought it was safe to go on a scenic drive… there was a shark in a tree! 😄
Our residents enjoyed a beautiful drive along the Bountiful Bench, where they took in the incredible views overlooking the valley and spotted one of Bountiful’s quirkiest local landmarks. The famous life sized shark sits high in a neighborhood tree near the Bountiful Utah Temple! 🏔️☀️
It was the perfect outing filled with gorgeous scenery, great company, plenty of smiles, and one very unexpected catch of the day! 🚐💙📸

🎶 Park Lane is alive with the sound of music! 🎶
Two years ago, our sweet resident Evelyn brought her love of music to our community by starting a resident choir, Melody Makers. Since then, it has grown into quite the talented group! 💙🎤
Terry has now stepped into the role of leading the choir, sharing her musical gifts and accompanying the group with her incredible talent on the piano. 🎹👏
Melody Makers gather every Wednesday evening to sing, laugh, practice, and share the joy of music together. It is always such a treat to hear their beautiful voices filling the halls! 🎵✨
Thank you, Evelyn, for starting something so special, Terry for continuing to help it flourish, and all our wonderful choir members for sharing their voices and joyful spirits with us! 🎼💙
