Utah State Tax Commission - Auditing Division Ensure compliance with state tax laws and collect the proper revenues for the state. The Division is organized similar to a public accounting firm.

The Auditing Division of the Utah State Tax Commission is one of the largest audit organizations in the state of Utah employing over 125 professional auditors, audit technicians and support staff. Staff auditors are supervised by audit seniors and tax audit managers. Each tax audt manager reports to either the Deputy Director or one of the Assistant Directors who in return report to the Division Director. Tax Auditor - Salary starting at $24.95 per hour (approximately $52,000 per year). An auditor audits state tax returns to determine compliance with Utah tax laws and rules. To qualify for an auditor position you must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and complete your degree by May 2018.
