“Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, at any table, when man has the resources and the scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life? There is no deficit in human resources. The deficit is in human will.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Small, collective efforts have a powerful effect! Celebrate your state and fellow citizens by donating to the Utah Food Bank.

“There is nothing new about poverty. What is new, however, is that we have the resources to get rid of it.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Through generous donations of food, time, and money in 2024, the Utah Food Bank was able to distribute 69.6 million pounds of food, the equivalent of 58 million meals, to Utahns facing hunger statewide.

Will you be part of the impact this year? Donate to the Utah Food Bank!

Our Annual YouthCity Government Martin Luther King Jr. Donation Drive has begun!

“Let us march on poverty until no American parent has to skip a meal so that their children may eat.”
– Martin Luther King Jr.

According to the Utah Food Bank, approximately 445,000 Utahns, and 1 in 5 Utah children, are at risk of missing a meal today. Join us as we Fight Hunger Statewide with the Utah Food Bank!

December 2025 Employee of the Month: Shelby Kealamakia!

Shelby is a part-time Program Instructor for our YouthCity at Central City K-6 grade program. She consistently goes above and beyond to support both students and staff. Students repeatedly share that she helps them with reading and homework, supports their emotions, and simply makes them feel seen, safe, and encouraged.

Her ability to show up with organization, consistency, empathy, and leadership truly embodies all Power of One traits, demonstrating how one person’s positive presence can create meaningful change in a community.

Thank you from all of us in the Youth and Family Division! Keep up the good work!
