Curious how the North American Monsoon affects streamflow? Check out these hydrographs from two sites in southeast Arizona β€” one from the Santa Cruz and one from Nogales Wash. The blue line is observed streamflow since the start of the 2024 monsoon. Notice how quickly these watercourses rise and fall. Given the nature of monsoonal thunderstorms, forecasting these rises proves to be a perennial challenge!

CBRFC staff recently met with Central Utah Water Conservancy District employees and discussed ways to better serve water consumers. Site visits were made to many critical locations in the Duchesne River system, including Upper Stillwater, Starvation, and Strawberry reservoirs, pictured below.
