Downtown Community Council represents the interests of Downtown residents on a variety of issues. DCC is the front line of civic engagement for people who live between South Temple and 600 South, and I-15 and State Street in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6:00 pm at either the American Towers community (44 West Broadway) or the Gateway 505 apartments.

Salt Palace to close for renovations to close in September with a projected reopening in 2031.

The Salt Palace Convention Center will close next year and remain closed for three years for a major renovation of its own, plus a portion that was purchased by the Smith Entertainment Group.

We return to Pioneer Park this Saturday with just as many vendors as last year.
Here is the insider’s scoop on getting to the Summer Market at Pioneer Park and parking.

Northbound traffic on 400 West will be closed during market hours. Please take an alternate route.

Two Hour Street Parking: Metered street parking is available on Saturdays for two hours in the same spot. It is $3.50 per hour and can be paid on ParkSLC app or at a nearby pay station.

FREE PARKING at The Gateway: The Gateway offers free parking one hour parking and then $2/hr after that.

GREENBike: Take a GREENBike from any GREENBike station and park it at the docking station on the street island in front of Caputo’s.

Ride TRAX: There are 2 TRAX stops close to The Gateway (Arena and Planetarium) Plan your trip!

The Utah Pride Festival and Pride Parade hosted by the Utah Pride Center is held the in early June at Library Square in Salt Lake City. All are welcome!
