Meet Beanie!

At just 5 months old and 21 pounds, Beanie is a brown merle Catahoula Leopard Dog mix with a whole lot of puppy personality packed into one adorable package.

She’s curious, playful and ready for toys, snacks, adventures and plenty of zoomies. Beanie is still learning all the important puppy things, so she’ll need a family who is ready to help her grow into the wonderful adult dog she’s meant to be.

Beanie has been waiting at the shelter since August 21, and she’s ready to find a family of her own.

Could Beanie be your new best friend? Email [email protected] with questions.

We need kitten formula ASAP.

We are right in the middle of kitten season, which means our foster families are caring for kittens of all ages every single day. Due to a recent formula recall, we are switching to a new formula and need to get our supply stocked back up quickly.

Formula is essential for the tiniest kittens in our care, especially those who are orphaned or need supplemental feedings. With kittens continuing to arrive, keeping formula on hand is critical to making sure our foster families have what they need to care for them.

If you’d like to help, our Kitten Wish List has been updated with the formula we are switching to.

You can find the link below. Every donation helps us keep our smallest residents fed and cared for.

We’re excited to share that HB 87, Biscuit’s Bill, is officially on the ballot for the 2026 Best of Utah Awards! 🐾🏆

This bill means so much to us and to the animals who can spend months stuck in legal holds, waiting for a resolution before they can move forward with their lives.

If you believe animals deserve a second chance, we’d love your vote! 🗳️❤️

To make your vote count, you’ll need to vote in 10 total categories, but you only have to vote once.

Thank you for continuing to show up for animals in our community. Bills like Biscuit’s Bill happen because people care, speak up, and take action. We couldn’t do this without you! 🐶🐱

We’re already $70,200 toward our $257,000 goal for the Furever Gala with a Purrpose. ❤️

This isn’t just about renovating kennels. It’s about creating spaces that reflect the way we care for animals today. Our kennels were built in 1991 for a three day stray hold model. Today, we are a no-kill shelter, and some animals need us for much longer.

They deserve comfort. They deserve space. They deserve a place that feels like a step toward home.

Every ticket, donation, sponsorship, and share helps us get closer to giving them just that.

🎰 Early bird ticket pricing ends soon!
Join us November 6 for an unforgettable evening with a purpose.

And keep tagging the businesses you want to see step up and help us make this happen. You never know who might see it and decide to be part of something that matters. 🐾

🎟️ Purchase your tickets or make a donation through the link https://cbo.io/app/public/bidapp/furevergala

With over 60 years of experience between them, they’re ready to answer your burning questions about dogs and cats like:

● Why does my dog spin in circles before lying down?
● Is it normal for my cat to “attack” my ankles at 6 a.m.?
● My dog barks at the vacuum — is that fear or just annoyance?
● How much enrichment does my indoor cat actually need?
● My rescue dog won’t make eye contact — should I be worried?
● Can dogs get jealous of a new baby, or is that just a myth?
● Why does my cat knead me like bread dough?
● Is it too late to “fix” bad leash manners in an older dog?

Whether your pet is a perfect angel or a delightful troublemaker, bring your questions — no query too big or too small!

Held here at the shelter on Wednesday, September 16th from 5:00 pm- 6:00 pm.
Find the sign-up link through our event page or in our bio. Humans only, space is limited.

132 days.

That’s how long Mac has been waiting for someone to choose him. 💔

Mac is our longest-term dog, and we truly don’t understand how this smart, goofy, energetic guy is still waiting.

He loves toys. He loves treats. He loves learning. And he absolutely loves being around people. He’s confident, outgoing, and has the kind of personality that makes you laugh.

Mac is looking for a home where he can be the only pet and where his person will keep his body active, his brain busy, and continue his training with him.

He doesn’t need another animal. He needs his person.

After 132 days, we’re hoping that person is out there.

You may have seen Bubba earlier today… but did you know he’s a dad?

Bubba had 8 puppies here at Salt Lake County Animal Services. Six have found their forever homes, but two of his girls are still here with him.

And he LOVES his girls.

How amazing would it be if this little family could find a home together?

If Bubba caught your eye, take a look at his girls too. Maybe they’re the family you’ve been looking for.
