Allies with Families Welcomes Jenn Oxborrow as the New Executive Director

Salt Lake City, UT — After years of leading Allies with Families, and advocating for youth and families around the state, Lori Cerar is retiring as executive director. Local long-time advocate Jenn Oxborrow has been selected to replace Cerar. They will work side-by-side until January 2021, when Cerar officially retires.

“We are very excited to welcome Jenn to our non-profit family,” said Lori Cerar, outgoing executive director. “We look forward to the continuing success Allies with Families, and those for whom we advocate, will achieve under her stewardship.”

Oxborrow brings extensive knowledge of the many agencies that serve children and youth with complex needs and their families. She also has personal experience of raising her two children who grew up in Utah’s mountains and deserts and are now both pursuing college educations. Oxborrow’s most recent professional experience includes directing the Utah Domestic Violence Coalition, a nonprofit where she successfully raised awareness and quickly became the statewide authority to support families and individuals experiencing domestic violence and its devastating effects.

“As someone with lived adverse childhood experiences, I have firsthand knowledge of the value of organizations that support children and families—all children and families,” said Jenn Oxborrow, new executive director of Allies with Families. “I intend to use my experiences, education, government and public relations, and my deep affinity for this work to promote and advocate for safe and loving homes and communities throughout Utah, and I am thrilled to join the Allies team.”
