recognized the at its awards banquet today for transforming student care through an innovative partnership with the , the Salt Lake Education Foundation, and the By bringing comprehensive physical, mental, and behavioral health services directly to campus, the clinic is redefining how students access essential care.

Since opening in February 2024, the clinic has served more than 3,000 students, provided over 550 sports physicals, and completed more than 1,100 mental health appointments. The award was accepted by , Executive Director of the Salt Lake Education Foundation; Dr. Kim Hansen, Director of the West High Clinic; and Dr. Karen Manotas, Behavioral Health Clinic Director at the West High Clinic.
We thank Envision Utah for the work they do and for honoring us with this award.

The Salt Lake Education Foundation and were honored to host the announcement luncheon for the lnvest in ME Scholars Program, a transformative opportunity for Utah high school seniors with limited access to educational resources. This program combines generous scholarships with wraparound support to help students thrive through college and beyond.

We were inspired by remarks from .slcsd, Superintendent, Salt Lake City School District; Geoffrey Landward, Commissioner of Higher Education; Abby Palmer Cox, First Lady of Utah; Mary Williams, UNCF Director of Outreach & Recruitment; and representatives from

Over 100 administrators, educators, counselors, board members, and community partners joined us to celebrate the unveiling of this incredible initiative!

Today was our inaugural "Thank You Thursday" at .slcsd!

Principal Baillie nominated 2 outstanding teachers to be recognized and appreciated for their work and service.

Volunteers from My Hometown, and representatives from made a surprise visit to Special Education Teacher Nicole Szigeti and 5th grade teacher Linette Sheffield.

In partnership with , the Salt Lake Education Foundation is excited to support classroom projects for teachers, counselors, speech pathologists, nurses, social workers, and librarians in who are at least 0.75 FTE.

Project Guidelines:
• Your total project cost must be $500 or less, including all fees and the suggested donation.
• This is a great opportunity to request supplies or resources that will have a meaningful impact in your work with students.
Current Impact:
• 147 projects funded
• 28 schools
• $27,108 awarded of our $50,000 budget!

Leadership from , , , and had the exciting opportunity to tour the Dickinson and Mandan CTE Centers in North Dakota last week!

This trip sparked ideas and inspiration as they conceptualize our CTE center at the former Riley Elementary site.

This morning, visited us at Newman Elementary and presented us with this year’s KSL’s Quarters for Christmas check! We partner with every year to have this money to students across the state of Utah and support all their holiday needs!

Celebrating Over a Decade of Partnership with Friends for Sight!

For more than 10 years, Friends for Sight has partnered with the Salt Lake Education Foundation to bring free, high-quality vision care to students across our district. Together, we’ve opened full-service vision clinics at the Glendale and Liberty Community Learning Centers, as well as Parkview Elementary—ensuring that students have the tools they need to succeed in and out of the classroom.

Yesterday, their incredible team hosted a mini-mobile clinic at Rose Park Elementary, where nearly 30 students received comprehensive eye exams between 9:00 AM and noon.

The response from families and students was so strong that we’re already planning a second event to meet the demand!

We are so grateful for Friends for Sight and their unwavering commitment to student health, equity, and access. When we work together, we make a real difference.

We are proud to announce that Alex Chavez has been named the 2026 Buildings and Grounds Employee of the Year! 🎉

Alex is the night custodian at Glendale Middle School and was honored last Thursday for his incredible commitment, work ethic, and the care he puts into keeping the school clean, safe, and welcoming for students and staff alike.

This recognition shines a light on the essential work Alex does every day—often behind the scenes—to help our schools thrive. His dedication does not go unnoticed, and we’re so proud to celebrate him!

A special thank you to the Multicultural Rotary Club of Utah for newly partnering with us this year to present their Bee Amazing Scholarship — your support helps open doors for our students in amazing ways. 🐝💛

We were grateful to have Superintendent Dr. Grant and Board President Rick Davis in attendance to help recognize and celebrate these outstanding students and their achievements. Their support means so much to our community. 🎉
