On Saturday November 1st, the Suffolk Regional EMS Council (REMSCO) held its annual CPR Life Saving Awards ceremony, honoring EMS providers for providing life-saving CPR to patients who are discharged from the hospital neurologically intact.

At this year's ceremony, the following members of the Fair Harbor Fire Department were honored for their successful CPR save in August 2025:

FERRY SERVICE ADVISORY
Fire Island Ferries has officially cancelled all ferry service for Monday, October 13th. Additionally, they have cancelled all ferry service AFTER the 1:00PM series on Sunday October 12th. Their official notice can be found at: https://fireislandferries.com/updates/service-suspended-sunday-afternoon-monday-due-to-noreaster.

The last ferry leaving Saltaire on Sunday, October 12th will be the 1:40PM boat.

High winds and tides have suspended ferry service starting Sunday afternoon, and water taxi and freight service suspended Sunday & Monday
