Our very own Fire Chief Dustin Bruce recognized for his service with the Middle Tennessee FOOLS. Chief Bruce is very passionate about the fire service and teaching, he enjoys spreading his knowledge and experience, we're very happy to have him guiding our department.

THE Saltillo Fire Department serves the residents and visitors of the City of Saltillo along with the unincorporated area around Saltillo. We run automatic aide in Hardin county outside city limits as well.
Members gain knowledge in fire prevention and protection, rescue, and EMS life-saving skills. We perform training at least monthly and sometimes even weekly. We welcome all people of good moral character. If you are not able or interested in being a Firefighter or EMR/EMT we also accept auxiliary members who serve the department and community in other ways. We are a family oriented department.

Congrats to all of these folks who recently passed the Hardin County EMR class.
We are especially proud of our very own Asst Chief Aden Ayers and Firefighter Adrian Garcia. We thank you for your dedication and commitment to serving our community and adding more providers to enhance our EMS response capabilities.

Congratulations to our recent Emergency Medical Responder class!!
These firefighters from 6 different fire departments completed 4 weeks of medical training. We thank them for their commitment to their communities and best of luck on their upcoming National Registry exams.

Several of your Saltillo Volunteers are attending EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) to be able to provide medical assistance to the community. We commend them for taking this step to better serve our community.

We had a great start to EMR Class with a strong Day 1 attendance!! 14 more sessions to go, 😂. We appreciate your dedication to advancing your fire department career. 💪🏻 ⛑️

🚩 Common Misconception: "All members of the fire department fight fires".

🚒 Truth: The fire department has positions for anyone wishing to help without having to be an actual firefighter.

Positions such as Emergency Medical Responder, Rescue Technician, Support Member, Driver/Operator are important and vital roles to our mission.

- Support Members assist with fundraising activities, community outreach, public safety, and even canteen support on fires and large incidents.

- Emergency Medical Responders are EMR, EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic that respond to medical emergencies and assist EMS transport with pre hospital treatment of sick or injured people.

- Rescue Technicians respond to vehicle accidents to perform extrication and specialized rescue such as Rope, High-Angle, Water, Silo, and Machinery rescue.

- Driver/Operators are responsible for responding to fire emergencies in suppression Apparatus and operating the pump on the apparatus at the fire scene or in water supply operations.
