Unique botanical preserve comprised of rich cove forest and spring-fed streams along a moderate 1/4 mile trail through a spectacular Glen to a cascading 90 ft waterfall. This botanical preserve is comprised of over 300 acres of native rich cover forest, spring-fed streams and a moderate 1/4 mile trail to a 90 ft. There are over 200 species of rare wildflowers and plants, most viewed in the spring.

The glen is classified as a deciduous climax forest and is maintained and protected by the Tryon Garden Club. Only certified service animals allowed

Pearson's Falls is owned by The Tryon Garden Club. The Tryon Garden Club is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization.

A note on our changes…

General admission has always been, and will always be, our biggest source of support for the Glen. That's not changing. Annual Membership isn't replacing this, it's simply an option for folks who visit regularly or want to give a little extra to help with our conservation efforts.

Children 13 and up have always paid full admission, but we have made all children under 12 free. That's new.

Also, Friends of the Falls is still just $25/year: first visit free with 20% discounts following.

We probably don't say this enough, but we are a non profit 501c3 that does not receive any supplemental income. Our preservation costs are fully funded by our admission and programming fees. These costs have more than doubled since our last fee adjustment in 2012. Helene caused an enormous loss of revenue the past 18 months, and it has taken a great deal of time, effort and resources to ensure that we can share this very special place with all of those who cherish it.

Our mission is to preserve and protect the Rich Cove Forest of Pearson's Falls and Glen.

And it is a mission we are asking all of our visitors to be a part of, whether as a day visitor, a friend, or a membership holder.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP!

When you gave us a follow on social media, you made a statement that Pearson's Falls & Glen matters to you, and that you are willing to invest in its future.

We are proud to announce that the Tryon Garden Club is now offering Annual Memberships to Pearson's Falls & Glen, a deeper level of connection to the preserve and to the Club that has protected it for nearly a century. In the spirit of our founding mission to preserve and protect; to educate and collaborate; and to beautify and treasure, this is simply the next chapter in a very long story.

New Annual Memberships will be available soon at the following rates:

Individual Membership (one adult): $100/year

Household Membership(two adults and dependent children 12 and under): $150/year

Annual Membership includes:
- Unlimited admission to Pearson's Falls & Glen for the full membership year;
- Four free guest passes per year;
- $10 discount on all programming at the preserve;
- Membership in the Tryon Garden Club*

*Since 1931, the Tryon Garden Club has owned and preserved Pearson's Falls & Glen. Your membership helps protect this national treasure.

We also continue to offer our Friends of the Falls program - a budget-friendly option for those who want to stand behind this place in a meaningful, ongoing way. At just $25 per year, it remains an impactful program anyone can do for the future of the Glen.

We will let you know when both Membership and Ticketing/Reservations go live!

As we near our grand re-opening of Pearson’s Falls & Glen, we are excited to share another update.

With our new Kirby Education Pavilion and beautifully restored trails and grounds, we’re welcoming a limited number of private gatherings each season - intimate weddings, elopements, team celebrations, or simply the people you love most, together enjoying a 90-foot waterfall, ancient trees and over 310 species of wildflowers.

Private events include 4 hours of exclusive access for up to 50 guests.

This August, something new comes to Pearson’s Falls and Glen.

Alongside our long-awaited reopening, we are launching our first-ever programs calendar, a collection of experiences as extraordinary as the place itself.

Guided hikes with our Director of Operations and Guardian of the Glen.

Bird walks through one of the richest cove forests in the region.

Yoga on a pavilion hand-built from trees the storm left behind.

And so much more to come.

Dear Members, Friends, and Community,

After nearly 20 months, the wait is almost over. Pearson's Falls and Glen reopens July 24!

We are so grateful for your patience and support as we've restored this beloved place following Hurricane Helene. The creek is still shifting, the trees are still settling, and the road crews have kept us on our toes, but nothing is stopping us now.

July 24. Rain or shine. Road work or not. We open the gates.

Here's what's new and exciting:

Admission is now $10. A small price for something truly magical, and every dollar goes straight to preserving this extraordinary forest for generations to come.

Your visit will feel different - in the best way. Scheduled visits and thoughtfully limited capacity mean more peace, more quiet, and a deeper connection with the Glen. Less crowds, more nature. Just the way it should be.

The Kirby Education Pavilion is open! Thanks to the Polk County Community Foundation, we've built a stunning new space for school groups, nonprofits, and community gatherings, carrying forward the legacy of conservation and community we've built here for generations.

Amazing new programming is on the way. Guided hikes, night hikes, geology talks, nature photography, forest bathing, yoga, and more - all open to the wider community. There has never been a better time to explore the Glen.

Membership tiers and giving options are now available. Everything goes directly to operations, maintenance, and bringing students and nonprofits into this remarkable place.

And we are thrilled to welcome Jen CK Jacobs as our first-ever full-time Executive Director! Jen has been part of our team since last fall and brings tremendous energy and passion to this role. She'll be working hand in hand with the irreplaceable Andy Ruff, our Operations Director and Guardian of the Glen, to make every visit unforgettable.

Pearson's Falls & Glen is not simply a park; it is a private botanical preserve that has been protected since 1931 by the Tryon Garden Club. The preserve contains rare native plants, sensitive stream corridors, mature forest communities, and a landscape shaped over centuries. A rare gem, indeed!

The Glen was thirsty. 📣 on.

After weeks of dry skies and parched earth, the rain finally came, hard and heavy and welcome. And the Glen answered.

Watch what happens when water finds its way back to where it belongs, rushing through the hollow, feeding the creek, waking up the falls.

This is Pearson’s Falls doing what it has done for centuries: reminding us that nature always knows how to come back.
We needed this. The Glen needed this. And it is beautiful.

Pearson’s Falls and Glen will re-open on 22 June by reservation Mon–Fri.

Yesterday, the Tryon Garden Club (the owners and stewards of the Preserve) held its annual meeting at a very special location, Pearson’s Falls & Glen, and for many of our members, it was their first visit back since Hurricane Helene. What a day it was.

Members had the chance to explore the stunning new trails and landmarks that have transformed this beloved preserve, and to witness firsthand the incredible work that has gone into bringing the Glen back to life, trail by trail, by hand, with heart.

We were proud to present the very first Guardian of the Glen Award to our Operations Director, Andy Ruff, the man who was here when the storm hit and never left.

Andy spearheaded the entire restoration effort, designed the C**t Creek Bridge and the Kirby Education Pavilion, and poured countless hours of dedication and perseverance into restoring this treasure for our community and all who love it.

Andy, on behalf of the Tryon Garden Club and every soul who cherishes this place, thank you. You are exactly what this award represents.

On 22 June, Pearson’s Falls & Glen will be open Monday–Friday. Reservations required. Online ticketing and reservations coming soon.
