Lake Isom corn! From a management stand point if you were looking to grow a crop to be left for ducks would you be happy with what ya got here? So many other options. This was yesterdays picture. Sorry we haven’t been posting lately we have been working hard on this and have been very busy working closely with some great people. We are making some progress on our end and are going to continue until we get this in front of the right people! Thank y’all for any and all help and support. BRING OUR LAKE BACK.

We thank y’all so much! You’re help in trying to restore what should be and could be one of TN most precious refuges in the state is greatly appreciated. Keep Inviting people to the page. Share our posts it’s the fastest way we grow. Contact your state representatives make it known that this place means something to so many. MAKE ISOM GREAT AGAIN!!

People still care about this place. We have only posted a handful but there are story after story rolling in about how great this place USED to be. It was more than just a piece of land in this area it was a resource that was used by the public. Please MAKE ISOM GREAT AGAIN!

Lake Isom sits just 3 miles south of the main lake of Reelfoot Lake. Also sits just 7 miles south of Reelfoot NWR. This shouldn’t just be a focus for people who care about Isom! It should be a focus for everyone who cares about this area as a historic home to wintering waterfowl! Look at these lines between the locations then think about all the traffic between these sanctuary’s that is created. Traffic is the most people’s bread and butter on Reelfoot! Sadly we 90% of the time miss 50% of the birds that used to call Isom home every year because of lack of water. BRING OUR LAKE BACK!!! Studies show when ducks get to Tennessee they call an area of less than ten miles home for the ENTIRE duck season. Sometimes even less. That’s including what comes in October and November! They don’t leave ALL YEAR! Why would we not have water when they show up! It’s INTENTIONAL and WRONG!! Hunting and fishing are this areas backbone. We have taken away a precious resource!

This is what Tennessee’s first NWR in the state has been turned into. Dry lake bed with even what would be the deepest spots in what was a lake being dry. Wetlands are our most lost ecosystem! Why are we destroying this one in such a manner! RETURN ISOM TO ITS ORIGINAL STATE!!! HOW IT WAS MEANT TO BE! We don’t know better than all those that came before us.
