Installing a car seat for younger children and babies can be a challenge. The Sammamish Police Department has two certified child-passenger safety technicians who can check to confirm car seats are installed correctly. During your 1-hour appointment, you will be shown how to use and install a car seat on your own and how to properly buckle your child into their seat for safe travel.

To book an appointment, visit our website: https://www.sammamish.us/government/police/car-seat-safety-inspections/

The Sammamish Police Department was excited to share an update regarding our ongoing community engagement efforts at the City Council meeting last Tuesday night.

Officer Kedrick Anderson has been selected as our new Community Resource Officer. He primarily works out of Eastlake High School and also makes regular visits to nearby elementary and middle schools within the Lake Washington School District. He brings a wide range of experience to Sammamish, having previously served as a police officer in Louisiana and later with the King County Sheriff’s Office. During his time with KCSO, he worked in unincorporated King County and with the Special Assault Unit.

Officer Matt Martin has stepped into his new role as our Community Engagement Officer after previously serving as our Community Resource Officer. His background is truly unique, with several years of service as a police officer in Sydney, Australia, before relocating to the United States. He also serves as a marine rescue driver and is a trained crisis and hostage negotiator, adding valuable expertise to our department.

We’re proud to have both officers in these roles and look forward to the positive impact they’ll continue to make in our community.
