School Will Resume Thursday August 6, 2026

Gann Fire Update
August 5, 2026 2:13pm

Dear CUSD Families,
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility as we continue to navigate the impacts of the Gann Fire.

After closely monitoring the fire's progress and local air quality, school will resume tomorrow, Thursday, August 6, at all CUSD school sites.

Although progress has been made on the Gann Fire thanks to the tremendous efforts of our first responders, we will continue to monitor both the fire and air quality throughout the day. The safety and well-being of our students and staff will continue to be our highest priority, and we will make decisions based on the most current information available.

As a precaution, outdoor activities will be modified as needed, with indoor activities taking place whenever air quality conditions warrant.

We are incredibly grateful to the firefighters and first responders working tirelessly to protect our communities. Thank you for your continued support as we work together through this challenging time. Should conditions change, we will notify families as soon as possible with any updates to our plans.

If you were purchasing items from San Andreas elementary wish list and it was refunded. There was a mistake on the mailing address. Apparently Amazon does not ship directly to our school so we had to change the address to the PO Box sorry for any inconvenience. Here is the link to the registry if you would like to order again?

Get excited! Wildcat gear is on sale from now until August 21st 🥳 Please add in the notes section which student the items can be distributed to.

PTC will be distributing to your students at school after they arrive in September. Please do not come to office and ask for them- a post will be made when all has been distributed. Thank you!
