Maria Jones has been flying with AirMed for just under two years, but her nursing career has taken her through many areas of healthcare. She began as an LVN before earning her AASN from Angelo State University and her BSN from Texas Tech University. Her experience includes long-term care, psych/addiction, Med-Surg, vascular nursing and the ER.
For Maria, becoming a flight nurse was a goal years in the making. βI knew I wanted to fly with AirMed from the time I first started working at Shannon. It was a goal I worked toward for years, so having the opportunity to become part of this team has been a blessing and incredibly rewarding.β
Her favorite part of AirMed is the unpredictable nature of the job, the knowledgeable crew she works alongside and the opportunity to serve people in our area during some of their most difficult moments.
And her βwhyβ goes beyond the aircraft:
βI hope I can set an example for my three young sons that hard work, determination and caring for others matters.β
