Fort Concho Elementary

Fort Concho Elementary Fort Concho Elementary is both a neighborhood school, and a Gifted and Talented magnet school serving students from all over San Angelo.

Our school sits on the property of the Fort Concho National Historic Landmark. This historical fort encompasses most of the former Army post and includes twenty-three original and restored structures. The school library is housed in the restored structure that was originally the post hospital. With this prime location of the school, students are not only within walking distance of the fort but als

o the Art Museum, River Stage, Concho River, Farmer's Market, and Celebration Bridge. The present facility was built in 1987 and includes two main buildings with 24 classrooms, an office area, cafeteria, and computer lab. Other buildings include a gymnasium and music room plus three portable buildings housing our Art, STEM and Research Labs.

There was lots to celebrate at the end of this year! Our retiring teacher, Mrs. Watson, our wonderful custodians, Caroline and Paulina, and three of our fabulous teachers who will not be returning! We will miss you Mrs. Ruiz-Luna! We know you and your hubby will love your new positions in Breckenridge! Congratulations to the 58 students that had PERFECT ATTENDANCE this entire year! We had close to 200 students with perfect attendance for the first semester! What an accomplishment! This precious girl knows it “PAYS” to go to school!!! She was the winner of the $100 bill this year! Thank you to our PTO for supporting our students through our “Jumping for Georges” initiative!!!
