📅Before They Were Principals…

Before Brooke Kalnbach was principal of McGill Elementary, she was an elementary student who loved reading and remembers Mrs. Harmon and Mrs. Mills as her favorite teachers.

But one of Mrs. Kalnbach’s favorite school memories actually happened at the end of each school day - seeing her grandma waiting to pick up her and her brother. She says her grandma was always there waiting for them.

Today, Mrs. Kalnbach says one of her favorite things about being an elementary principal is simply the fun of it - and getting to support students, teachers and families along the way.

Our students had a great visit from the San Angelo Fire Department! They learned important fire prevention and safety tips and got an up-close look at a real fire truck—which was definitely a highlight! ❤️🐎

What a wonderful way to wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month! 🇲🇽📚❤️ Our first graders loved learning about Mexico through Living in Mexico and making connections to our classroom learning about the Maya and Aztec civilizations. It was such a meaningful way to celebrate the rich history, culture, and contributions of Mexico while bringing our learning to life!

A huge thank you to Atmos Energy for helping put a new book into the hands of every first grader and for inspiring a love of reading beyond the classroom! 📖❤️🐎

Yesterday was National Instructional Coaches’ Day! It is a dedicated day to acknowledge, honor, and celebrate the vital, behind-the-scenes work of instructional coaches in schools. We’ve been blessed with three wonderful instructional coaches and we are so grateful for the support they offer.
