The IJ has a story today about Marin-connected participants in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Two are Archie Williams/Drake alums: Dylan Woodhead (water polo) and Joe Ryan (baseball).

Archie William had this to say about his own participation in the 1936 Berlin Olympics: “I was happy. It was like a dream. You were dreaming you were in something that you thought about before. What am I doing here? Is this me? In fact, when it was over and I came back, did that really happen? Did I really do that? That kind of stuff. I think most people feel that same way, especially because I came like you say--. One year I was nothing, the next year I was in this.”

A handful of Marin athletes are in Tokyo to compete in a Summer Games amid the pandemic with restrictions unlike any before.

Students at the school voted this week for either Peregrine Falcons or Pilots. Falcons won by close to 70%.
