💫 On our country’s Independence Day, I believe it’s important to reflect on the promises this country was built on: freedom, equality, justice, and a government that answers to the people.

While we have never lived up to those ideals perfectly, loving this country means refusing to give up on them. It means standing up when our country falls short of its promises and doing the work to move us closer to them. 💪🏼

The American promise belongs to all of us, not just a select few. Our job as true patriots? Well, that’s to keep fighting to make that promise a reality.
