Heavy rain should never turn into repeated damage at home.

In Tanglewood, I met with a resident whose home has been impacted by drainage issues, including damage to his fireplace, flooring, and backyard. I brought our Director of Public Works out to listen, assess the problem, and discuss immediate and long-term drainage solutions.

As your City Councilmember, I will continue working to identify infrastructure solutions that protect neighborhoods and reduce future damage.

A special thank you to City of San Antonio Director of Airports, Jesús Saenz for providing an update on the exciting progress we are making. Keeping our residents informed about projects that will shape our city’s future is always a priority.

Thank you to the Executive Committee for the invitation and thoughtful discussion. I look forward to joining the full Dominion HOA Board in April and continuing the conversation.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to tour Camp Bullis and learn more about the vital role it plays in training our nation’s military and strengthening San Antonio’s long-standing connection to our armed forces.

Camp Bullis is a tremendous asset to San Antonio and to our nation. As home to most of the installation, District 8 understands the importance of maintaining a strong partnership between the City and Camp Bullis—one that supports military readiness while encouraging compatible growth that benefits our entire community.

Thank you to the Camp Bullis leadership for hosting us and for your continued service to our country. We look forward to continuing our collaboration in support of our military community.

Exciting improvements are underway at Eisenhower Park! 🌳

Construction has begun on a complete replacement of the park’s playground, featuring brand-new play equipment and accessibility upgrades to create a safer, more inclusive space for children of all abilities.

Work is expected to be completed in November 2026. During construction, the playground and several nearby parking spaces will remain temporarily closed.

Thank you for your patience as we continue investing in the parks and public spaces that make District 8 a great place to live, play and gather.

It was a pleasure to join the ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery and Bakery Lorraine at Terminal B of the San Antonio International Airport.

In addition to their District 8 locations, these local favorites now have a presence at our airport, giving visitors a warm San Antonio welcome from the moment they arrive. We’re proud to see our local businesses continue to grow while representing the best of our city. Today, we welcomed District 8 HOA leaders for our HOA President’s Roundtable: Budget Talks.

Deputy City Manager Maria Villagomez and San Antonio Fire Chief Valerie Frausto shared valuable insights into the proposed FY2027 City Budget and heard directly from neighborhood leaders about our community’s priorities and needs.

We encourage neighbors to continue participating in the budget process by joining us for the District 8 Budget Town Hall on Thursday, August 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Phil Hardberger Park Urban Ecology Center (8400 NW Military Highway).

Thank you to everyone who joined us and continues to advocate for their communities!
