The Army ODR programs offers diverse, healthful, vigorous, and comprehensive outdoor recreation activities and instruction for active duty, family members, DoD civilians and other authorized patrons. The ODR programs build a sense of community, promote skill development, and provide for stress relief and enjoyment while conserving and protecting wildlife, forests, wetlands, and other natural resou

rces. The program contributes to military mission readiness through adventure and challenge-type activities that test functional fitness and motor skills, and enhance unit cohesion. Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) is a program that combines existing outdoor recreation programs, high adventure and high adrenaline based activities focused on team building, with a Leader-Lead After Action Debrief (L-LAAD), developed by the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) Center and School for the Army’s psychological resiliency building program, to assist Soldiers in reaching a “new normal” as they transition back from deployment to their home station environment.
