Today is National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day 🎗️

We mark the anniversary of the July 27, 1953 armistice by reflecting on a conflict too often referred to as the "Forgotten War." Today, we stand together as a community to declare that our veterans and fallen heroes are never forgotten. 🤝🎖️

Millions of Americans left their homes to defend freedom in harsh, unforgiving conditions. We honor their unbreakable spirit, their sacrifices, and the enduring legacy of peace they helped forge. 🕊️✨

Due to the inclement weather and adverse road conditions in and around Joint Base San Antonio, the JBSA Commander has authorized early release from duty locations for non-emergency civilian personnel for today Wednesday, 15 July 2026.

Additionally, due to expected inclement weather and adverse road conditions, delayed reporting is authorized for non-emergency civilian personnel scheduled for duty tomorrow, Thursday, 16 July 2026.

Civilian employees who report for duty late on Wednesday may have their tardiness excused by their individual supervisors. Employees on approved telework agreements who are scheduled to work on 16 July 2026 are expected to begin their duty day at the regularly scheduled time.

Please look to your respective commanders for additional guidance.

JBSA-Lackland Security Hill gate will be OPEN until further notice due to potential flooding at Hall St and Kelly St bridges from inclement weather.

🚧 Be prepared to use alternate routes and DO NOT cross these bridges during inclement weather, high water can quickly flood this area.

🚨 Attention JBSA-Lackland Commuters 🚨

The safety and security of our community is paramount. 🛡️ Illegal right turns from the middle lanes on Military Drive onto Selfridge Avenue have led to multiple vehicle collisions 💥🚗, endangering our community and causing significant traffic delays. 🛑

This risky behavior obstructs intersections and can prevent emergency vehicles 🚑🚒 from providing critical, life-saving services.

To ensure the safety of our military members and families, the 802d Security Forces Squadron 👮🚔 will increase traffic enforcement at the Selfridge West Gate during morning hours. 🌅 Our Defenders will be on-site to ensure all commuters follow traffic laws. ⚠️ Offenders will be redirected to the back of the entry queue. 🔙

We are all responsible for maintaining a safe environment. 🤝 Please exercise caution, adhere to traffic laws, and help us keep JBSA-Lackland safe and mission-ready. ✈️
