Thank you to Jesus Rendon at the Rendon Entrepreneurial Center for hosting this interactive workshop and for sharing information about their local incubator services and technical training to help grow small businesses.

Data & Contract Compliance Manager Jason Burgos and Supplier Engagement and Contract Compliance Specialist Tracy Lee led the presentation providing an overview of the vendor registration process and a clear understanding of how county contracting works.

Giving local entrepreneurs a clear roadmap to navigate procurement empowers them to build the capacity needed to participate in Bexar County solicitations. We offer this workshop monthly with flexible morning and afternoon sessions to fit the busy schedules of local business owners.

SBA Disaster Relief for August 28th Severe Storms

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the availability of low-interest federal disaster loans to Texas businesses, private nonprofit organizations, and residents to offset physical and economic losses from severe storms and tornadoes occurring Aug. 28.

The declaration covers the Texas counties of Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe,Kendall, Medina, and Wilson.

Businesses and nonprofits are eligible to apply for physical disaster loans and may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery, and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.

Homeowners and renters are eligible to apply for home and personal property loans and may borrow up to $100,000 to replace or repair personal property, such as clothing, furniture, cars, and appliances. Homeowners may apply for up to $500,000 to replace or repair their primary residence.
The SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan program is available to eligible small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, and private nonprofit organizations — including faith-based organizations — impacted by financial losses directly related to this disaster.

Economic Injury Disaster Loans are for working capital needs caused by the disaster and are available even if the small business or private nonprofit did not suffer any physical damage.

The loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills which could not be paid due to the disaster.

What a successful Morning Jumpstart! We welcomed the Bexar County Clerk's Office Records on the Run here at the Small Business Opportunity Center to provide in person services to folks saving them time and travel.

Our team recently attended the “Café y Conchas con El Board” event hosted by the Hispanic Contractors Association de San Antonio (HCA de SA)!

We spent the morning connecting directly with construction related business owners to share valuable information about our services and highlighting upcoming Bexar County opportunities. We also spoke to some incredibly inspiring college student entrepreneurs who were establishing real industry connections.
