Did you know that we have a program to help our senior residents in need if they receive a notice of violation?

Our Senior Assistance Program goal is to help those in need to address code violations before they become citations that incur fees. This initiative helps residents ages 65 and older and disabled individuals with confirmed violations in these categories:

Tall grass and weeds (over 12 inches)
Trash in yards and storage buildup
Tree removal or trimming if it poses a hazard

Did you know we have a dashboard that shows inspections, violations, and citations for apartments with ongoing code issues?

The Proactive Apartment Inspections Program's goal is to provide safer housing conditions for renters and ensure that owners comply with the San Antonio Property Maintenance Code. Any apartment complex receiving three designated citations within a rolling six-month period or ordered by the Building Standards Board is placed in this program.

What problems do Code Enforcement Officers look for?

Code Enforcement Officers help keep neighborhoods safe by addressing violations of City codes. Some of the most common issues they see include:

Why does it matter?
