Tonight is the night! 💙

I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone this evening at my birthday celebration. If you can make it — come out, celebrate with us, and let's finish this campaign strong together.

As Yom Kippur draws to a close tonight, we honor our Jewish community’s sacred day of reflection, repentance, and renewal.

This holy day calls us to account for who we have been and who we are committed to becoming. That spirit of honest reflection and pursuit of justice is one we can all carry forward.

To our Jewish neighbors in San Antonio and across Bexar County, G’mar Chatimah Tovah. May your new beginnings be blessed. 🕊️

Hispanic Heritage Month is here — and I am proud to celebrate it as your judge, as a Bexar County daughter, and as a Latina who has seen firsthand the strength our community brings to every courtroom, every family, and every corner of this city.

Our heritage is not just a moment to commemorate. It is a living force — in the children I fight for on the bench, in the neighbors who show up for each other every single day, and in the next generation of leaders who are watching and learning what justice looks like.

In my courtroom, justice has no exception. And in this community, our contributions deserve no less than full recognition. Today and every day. 🇲🇽❤️

¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana, San Antonio!

Twenty-five years have passed and somehow it seems like yesterday. We all work with adults who were not even born when the world shifted on 9/11 and my birthday became a day of national memory (and mourning).

Every new day is a reminder that life continues, love can grow, and memories keep us connected always. May peace and comfort come to those that mourn and remember today, may history bring lessons to those too young to remember, and may love be with us all!

Earlier this month, I brought together legal experts, elected officials, advocates, and community leaders for a conversation about children in federal immigration custody — including at facilities right here in our backyard.

Co-hosted with Congressman Joaquin Castro and Frank Guerra at Guerra LLP, the Convening on the Care of Children in Federal Immigration Custody gave our community’s most knowledgeable voices a seat at the table, and created a space to center children, their safety, and their well-being.

Once we set the stage, everyone was able to ask some hard questions of the presenters and each other, moving towards solutions that will keep our children safe and protected. Everyone in the room was able to discuss what solutions may be legally and legislatively possible, and identify where community action can make a difference.

Thank you to Congressman Joaquin Castro, the Texas Civil Rights Project, Lance Curtright, and every brilliant mind who showed up and brought their expertise to this work. And thank you to Frank Guerra for sharing his beautiful office space and staff so this conversation could get started. Next steps are still being developed but we know this conversation doesn’t end here. Reach out to us if you’d like to join the efforts to protect all our community’s children and ensure that, collectively, we are acting in our children’s best interest.
