❤️ Tu Salud Sí Cuenta — Your Health Matters! ❤️

Today, we were happy to welcome Ms. Letty Gomez, Community Outreach Worker with the City of San Benito, to Palmville Estates to provide blood pressure screenings for our residents and staff through the Tu Salud Sí Cuenta program! 🩺

These simple screenings are a great reminder of how important it is to stay informed about our health and take small, proactive steps toward our overall well-being.

We sincerely thank Ms. Letty Gomez and the City of San Benito for partnering with San Benito Housing Authority and bringing valuable health resources directly to our community. Partnerships like these help us connect our residents with services and information that can make a difference. 💙💚

Happy National Senior Citizens Day! 💙💛

Thursday we had the pleasure of celebrating our wonderful Palmville residents with a special luncheon in recognition of National Senior Citizens Day! We enjoyed delicious brisket sandwiches, good conversation, and most importantly, time together as a community. 🍽️❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us today, and to those who helped make the afternoon special. To all of our seniors: we appreciate you, we value you, and we celebrate you today and every day! 🏡✨

A little Lotería fun with our Palmville residents! 🎉❤️

A huge thank you to Agua Cristalina Home Care LLC for hosting a fun-filled afternoon of Lotería for our residents! We had a great turnout filled with plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and time spent together. 🎴✨

A wonderful afternoon at Palmville! 💙

Thank you to Patricia Avila and Lourdes Claudio with Security National Life Insurance Company for spending time with our residents yesterday and providing an informative presentation on funeral pre-planning and preparing for the future with peace of mind.

🏠 Section 8 Landlord Meeting & NSPIRE Training

Last week, the San Benito Housing Authority hosted a Landlord Meeting and NSPIRE Training for our current Section 8 landlords!

The meeting focused on keeping our landlords informed about HUD’s updated housing quality and inspection standards, reviewing program requirements, and ensuring everyone is on the same page when it comes to providing safe, quality housing for the families we serve.

We also discussed the importance of keeping all required documentation current and up to date, while giving our landlords an opportunity to ask questions and receive clarification on program requirements.

🤝 Interested in becoming a Section 8 landlord? We are always happy to welcome new property owners interested in participating in our Housing Choice Voucher Program and helping expand housing opportunities within our community.

We will be hosting additional landlord meetings and trainings throughout the year, so be sure to follow our page for upcoming dates, information, and opportunities to get involved!

The San Benito Housing Authority is proud to be part of the growing Working Dignity Coalition, joining fellow housing authorities from across South Texas in a shared commitment to the families and communities we serve.

We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate, exchange ideas, and strengthen partnerships focused on helping our residents move toward self-sufficiency, economic opportunity, and long-term success.

Thank you to HUD Region VI Regional Administrator Ashlea Quinonez for welcoming San Benito Housing Authority and our fellow housing partners into this important coalition. We look forward to working together to connect our residents with education, workforce opportunities, resources, and support that can create meaningful change for generations to come.

Yesterday, SBHA had the opportunity to attend the South Texas Federal Partner Forum in Edinburg, hosted by the USDA Rural Development Texas Team. The event brought together federal partners, local government entities, and community organizations committed to building connections, fostering collaboration, and creating new opportunities throughout rural Texas.

We were grateful to learn about the many valuable resources available to support and empower communities across the region. Many thanks to the USDA Rural Development Texas Team for the invitation and to everyone who helped make this a meaningful and informative event!
