On February 6, Laura Saavedra was at Yturria Elementary meeting with parents to talk about the importance of monitoring sugar and sodium intake in our daily diets. 🥤🍓

They learned how to read nutrition labels, make healthier choices at the grocery store, and find simple swaps to reduce excess sugar and salt at home.

To top it off, everyone enjoyed making a delicious and healthy Strawberry Surprise Smoothie! 🍓✨

EFNEP staff had a wonderful experience attending the 2026 Extension Health Summit in College Station from February 9–12, 2026, hosted by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.

A special congratulations to Beatriz Rodriguez, Christina Navejar, and Ashley Andrade for their outstanding work in developing and presenting “Mastering EFNEP Cycles: Planning with Purpose” presentation during the EFNEP Post-Conference Session of the State Health Summit. Their presentation focused on practical strategies to strengthen calendar management, travel planning, and time organization for EFNEP educators.

Taking the stage in front of statewide peers is no small task, but they demonstrated professionalism, preparation, and confidence throughout their presentation. We are proud of their teamwork, leadership, commitment, and the impact they bring to EFNEP statewide.
