Victor Valley College’s student engagement center hosted us for The Red Zone education. This event allowed us to connect with students, raise awareness about s*xual assault, and share ways to stay safe throughout their college experience.

Conversations included reminders that consent can be withdrawn @ ANY TIME! Yes means yes, no means no, and boundaries deserve to be respected—always. ❤️

It was so heartwarming to see how happy students were to have us on campus bringing awareness and support. They were excited to join the movement, be part of the conversation, and make a difference. Together, we can create a safer, more informed, and supportive campus community!

Thank you Victor Valley College for inviting us to be a part of your September to Remember. We enjoyed sharing our resources with the elder community that is transitioning into college and showing them ways they can get involved in the community. We also enjoyed Bingo, dancing, food, and fellowship!

Today is the National Day of Action to urge the US Senate to pass the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act (CVFSA)!  These funds are essential to support victim services.

Call and/or Email Senators Padilla and Schiff today in support of the CVFSA:   Senator Padilla is already a co-sponsor of S.1892 - Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act of 2025; Senator Schiff is not a cosponsor yet.

We’d like to give a big ‘Thank You’ to Andrea and Brian at DeafHope and Warren at Sound of Silence Interpreting for providing our September In-Service training. With services much like ours, DeafHope shared incredible insight and training for working with individuals in the Deaf/HOH and Deaf/Blind community. Brian-middle screen- is signing ‘access’. As September is Deaf Awareness Month, it’s a perfect word to remind us, as advocates, that all survivors need and deserve access to services. We are grateful to have partnered with DeafHope to learn more about access to interpreters, growing relationships with providers for best practices, and learning how allyship impacts Survivors.

We are so glad we had the experience of attending the SART Summit hosted by CCFMTC. Our role on the team provides Survivors an advocate during forensic interview and exams. This means they are not alone and our amazing forensic nurses can focus on collecting evidence and tending to the survivor’s medical needs while we focus on providing emotional support and advocacy to the survivor throughout the process. Having a team ensures that the survivor gets the holistic care they need and deserve. We are honored to team up with the wonderful nurses in the facilities we partner with.
