Advocates from all over California have come to Sacramento today for Policy Advocacy Day to speak to our legislators about how crucial it is that centers like ours are put back into Governor Newsom’s budget. We are thankful for last year’s Champions Senator Eloise Gomez Reyes and Assemblymember Pilar Schiavo that helped us get a one-time $100 million to backfill VOCA and this year we are asking for the same. Our champions Assemblymember Pilar Schiavo and Senator Susan Rubio are standing with us in our request to backfill VOCA with $100 million against this year. Please Do NOT leave survivors in the dark! 💡

We believe that bringing men into the conversation strengthens the movement. We recognize that men are survivors and they deserve resources. We also believe that men standing up to sexual violence, teaching young men to respect boundaries, and supporting men to speak up makes a difference in the fight.
