A secure load is everyone’s responsibility, not just today but every day. Taking a few extra minutes before you hit the road can help prevent crashes, injuries, and roadway hazards:

• Tie down all items with ropes, straps, or cargo nets rated for the load.
• Cover loose materials like dirt, gravel, or yard waste with a tarp.
• Place heavier items on the bottom and distribute weight evenly.
• Check that tailgates, doors, and trailer latches are fully closed and locked.
• Remove or tie down anything that could blow away, including lightweight items.
• Recheck your load after the first few miles and periodically during longer trips.

On this D-Day Remembrance, we honor the courage and sacrifice of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944. Their selfless service and commitment to a cause greater than themselves continue to inspire generations. We remember their legacy and the freedoms they helped preserve.

A hot car can turn deadly in minutes.

🌡️ Temperatures inside a vehicle can rise 20 degrees in just 10 minutes.
👶 On average, 37 children die each year from heatstroke in vehicles.
🚗 Even on a 60-degree day, a child can die in a hot car.

Look before you lock. Never leave a child or pet unattended in a vehicle, not even for a moment.

This weekend, Inland Division officers had the honor of taking the field with the Yucaipa Athletics Challenger Team, an amazing program that gives children with disabilities the opportunity to experience the joy of baseball.

From the first pitch to the final play, the smiles, energy, and excitement made for an unforgettable day. A special thank you to Chipper for serving as our guest umpire and helping create lasting memories for these incredible athletes.

Giving back to our community is always rewarding, and days like this remind us why we serve.

Here is a post from our partners, officers responded to a head-on crash on 17 Mile Drive west of Majella Road. Preliminary investigation indicates a tour bus carrying 48 passengers was traveling westbound on 17 Mile Drive while a Corvette was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. For reasons still under investigation, the driver of the Corvette crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head-on with the tour bus.

The driver of the Corvette sustained suspected major injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver was also suspected of driving under the influence and was placed under arrest. One passenger on the bus sustained suspected minor injuries, while all other passengers reported no injuries.

The CHP reminds motorists to never drive under the influence and to always drive at a safe speed. Reckless driving decisions can have life-changing consequences for everyone on the roadway.

One decision can change everything.

A seat belt may seem small, but in a crash, it can mean the difference between life and death. Too many lives are lost every year because someone chose not to buckle up.

Buckle up. Every seat. Every trip. Every time.
