The Transitional Assistance Department (TAD) of the San Bernardino County Human Services is responsible for administering the Department’s financial support programs to persons in need of financial, and/or nutritional and/or medical assistance. New federal legislation, the House of Representatives (H.R.) 1, will introduce changes to Medi-Cal that may affect some individuals starting in late 2026 and continuing into 2027.

These changes may include updates to non-citizen eligibility, potential work or community engagement requirements for some adults, and more frequent renewal timelines.
