🙏🙏🙏. Our prayers and condolences to family, friends and his brothers and sisters at the PD family….

It is with profound sadness that we honor the life and sacrifice of LVMPD Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Officer Abdelnabi was a 30-year-old Marine Corps veteran who dedicated his life to serving both his country and his community. After joining the LVMPD in November 2023, he was assigned to the Southeast Area Command, where his infectious laugh, larger-than-life personality, and genuine compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Above all, he cherished his wife, Sage, with whom he shared eight years of marriage.

On August 4, 2026, Officer Abdelnabi was tragically killed in the line of duty while responding to a call involving a person with a gun.

We ask our community to keep Officer Abdelnabi's family, friends, and our entire LVMPD family in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. Officer Austin Abdelnabi's courage, selfless service, and ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

We will honor his legacy.

Sergeant Dominic Vaca was killed in the line of duty on May 31, 2021, when he was shot following a vehicle pursuit of a motorcycle in Yucca Valley. Sergeant Vaca was flown to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Dominic served his country in the United States Army before pursuing a career with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department in 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie, and two daughters, Angie, and Makayla.

Please take a moment today to remember Sergeant Dominic Vaca, who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Was a great day last weekend for all of our volunteers at the annual SBCSD Volunteer Picnic! Thank you to all our volunteers across all divisions for your dedicated service to our communities!!

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department extends our heartfelt condolences to our partners at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department after the tragic loss of a San Dimas Sheriff’s Deputy during the 2026 Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay.

We are thinking of his family, friends, and fellow deputies as they navigate this loss. His service and dedication will not be forgotten.

Our department stands with LASD and keeps his loved ones in our thoughts during this difficult time.
