National School Counseling Week (February 2–6) is a special time to recognize and celebrate the incredible impact our school counselors have on students, families, and school communities every single day. This week highlights the essential role counselors play in supporting students’ academic success, social-emotional well-being, and future planning.

Our counselors do so much more than many people realize—listening, guiding, advocating, and helping students navigate challenges while discovering their strengths and possibilities. We are deeply grateful for their compassion, expertise, and unwavering commitment to helping every student thrive. Did you know? San Carlos School District offers a variety of preschool options so families can choose the program that best fits their needs.

We offer early learning preschool classes on all elementary campuses — Arundel, Brittan Acres, Heather, and White Oaks. It’s a wonderful way for children and families to connect with their future school community and begin building friendships early.

🌟 State-funded preschool spots are available now at Arundel and are FREE for eligible families. Many families qualify — for example, a family of four earning up to $127,338 per year may be eligible. Our team is happy to help determine eligibility.

Calling all future San Carlos students! New Student Priority Registration is OPEN NOW!

Families with incoming TK and Kindergarten students, as well as any students new to SCSD for the coming fall, are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Completing registration before the January 30 deadline helps secure your child’s spot and allows us to thoughtfully plan staffing, classrooms, and resources for the 2026–27 school year.

Our Arundel School Halloween parade will take place on Friday October 31st

Line up at 8:30 on the upper playground.

Students will head to their classrooms at the beginning of the day to put their backpacks and things away, then gather for the parade route. Students are to wear their costumes to school, with their regular school clothes worn under their costumes.

Parents are encouraged to watch from the blacktop behind the students. See you tomorrow!

Join us for Preschool - 3rd Grade Family Literacy Night on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025 @ 5:30 - 6:30 pm at Tierra Linda Middle School Library!

Bring the whole family for some light appetizers and snacks while you learn about how to support literacy at home, gather hands-on resources, and connect with our community.

No Friday night plans? Join us for our second annual Movie Night tomorrow night on the upper playground!

Bring a picnic dinner or arrive early to grab pizza and a drink for just $5 (2 slices + beverage). The picnic starts at 6:30pm, and the movie — Sing 2 — begins at 7:00pm under the stars.

We'll also be serving FREE popcorn and cotton candy, so bring your blankets, chairs, and your Arundel spirit for a fun family evening!
