Tonight we’re lighting a candle for the babies who were here too briefly, and for the parents who carry their memory every day.

October 15 is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day. In our work with NICU families, we’ve met so many parents whose stories didn’t end the way they hoped. We think about those families often, and today especially.

If you’d like to join us, light a candle at 7pm your time and leave it burning for an hour. As each time zone lights up, it creates a wave of light that moves around the world.

If you’re comfortable, share your candle in your stories and tag us. And if you want to, tell us your baby’s name in the comments. We’d be honored to remember them with you.

Ask a NICU mom what the hardest part was, and a lot of them won’t say the machines or the waiting. They’ll say it was trying to explain how they felt in a second language, to someone they’d only just met, while their baby was down the hall.
That’s why our mental health services are offered in English and in Spanish. Parents can talk to someone who understands not just the words but the feeling behind them, without having to translate their fear first.

A day of wellness, connection and purpose — all while giving back to NICU families.
We’re proud to partner with The Inner Applause Experience, a one-day wellness and empowerment experience taking place Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 10 AM–4 PM at Del Mar Social.
Created by a fellow NICU mom who understands firsthand how overwhelming it can be when your world is turned upside down, this experience is about more than wellness. It’s about creating space to move, breathe, connect, reflect and rise — while helping families who are navigating their own difficult journeys.
Through this partnership, 10% of ticket sales will be donated to Miracle Babies, helping provide transportation, mental health support and essential resources to families with babies in the NICU.
And there’s another way to be part of this incredible day…
TWO tickets to The Inner Applause Experience will be available to bid on at our Breakfast in Sicily silent auction on October 7!
We love seeing our community come together in meaningful ways — because when a family is facing the NICU, support can make all the difference.
