Amazon can do business in San Diego. But it doesn’t get to use our public parks as free warehouse space.

Our parks belong to San Diegans. It belongs to the kids who play there, the families who gather there, and the community members who work hard to bring people together.

We’re calling for a citywide response to make sure this doesn’t happen again. If our laws aren’t strong enough to stop corporations from turning public spaces into private distribution hubs, then we need to change them.

Parks are for people, not profit.

Before ➡️ After in City Heights. 🙌

Neighbors raised concerns about graffiti and fencing near El Cajon Boulevard and Marlborough Ave. Our office elevated those requests, and City staff followed up with the property owner to make sure the issues were addressed.

The result: fencing was removed, the property was cleaned up, and the graffiti was painted over.

Thank you to the neighbors who reported the issue, City staff who stayed on it, and everyone who helped get this done.

We were proud to join the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council at the annual to celebrate the union members who keep our region running. San Diego is stronger when working people stand together.

💚 City Heights takes care of City Heights 💚

I loved spending the morning with City Heights Community Development Corporation, our District 9 team, and neighbors from across the community for the 2nd Annual Beautify the Block. Together, we rolled up our sleeves and showed some love to the neighborhood.

Clean, safe, and welcoming neighborhoods should be a reality for every family. Grateful to everyone who spent part of their Saturday caring for the neighborhood and for one another.

📚 A strong school year starts with a strong community. Yesterday, we joined students, families, educators, and staff at Harriet Tubman Village Charter School for their Back to School BBQ.

Our schools are where young people begin building their futures, and that work is made possible every day by dedicated teachers, staff, and families who show up for them.

Thank you to Dr. Isaac Estrada and the entire Harriet Tubman community for the warm welcome. We are wishing every student a successful and inspiring school year ahead!

Our team joined residents, community organizations, and first responders for an evening of connection, conversation, and community.

Every person in every neighborhood deserves to feel safe. Building that sense of safety takes trust, strong relationships, and all of us working together.
