Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) Littoral Combat Ship Training Facility (LTF) Pacific (PAC) recently had the honor of hosting Capt. Michael Dwan, commander, and Command Master Chief Jacob Shafer. During their visit, Dwan and Shafer observed trainers that are part of the Director, Surface Warfare’s (OPNAV N96) program of record, Surface Training Program (STP) (previously Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment – STAVE), which was introduced in 2013 as a means to invest in training technologies, devices, and facilities to improve the effectiveness, efficiency, and availability of all surface training. Theses trainers included the Bridge Part Task Trainer and Mission Bay Trainer. They also observed Electronic Warfare and Mine Warfare courses and engaged with instructors of all ranks to receive feedback and discuss current manning, increased need for training, and changes to fleet requirements. Dwan and Shafer were able to see firsthand how SCSTC LTF PAC delivers world-class, modernized and battle-ready LCS Sailors!

On 16 September, 2025, seven LTFPAC sailors were proudly promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer during a heartfelt pinning ceremony with family, friends, and loved ones in attendance! We celebrate their hard work, leadership, and commitment to service as they reach this career milestone. For their Chief Season, six of our seven sailors joined with multiple commands at Naval Base San Diego while one of our sailors joined together with Naval Base Great Lakes.
