Celebrando Raíces is back at the awesome Mujeres Brew House💖 An evening of cultura, connection, good food, music, prizes, and plenty of reasons to celebrate.

For 57 years, Chicano Federation has grown alongside our comunidad, through every challenge, every change, and every generation that has helped shape who we are today. And while there’s a lot weighing on our communities right now, we also know there is power in making space for joy, for each other, and the reminder que ¡aquí estamos y no nos vamos!

Este programa gratuito y completamente en español te ayuda a conocer el proceso para abrir una guardería familiar con licencia, desde los requisitos y trámites hasta la capacitación y recursos que necesitas para convertir tu idea en una realidad.

This weekend, Barrio Station was filled with families, volunteers, partners, laughter, and a whole lot of back-to-school excitement as we came together to help local students start the school year strong💪🏽🎒

With more than 1,000 youth registered and 87 incredible volunteers lending a hand, families received fully stocked backpacks, books, food, diapers and wipes, hygiene kits, water bottles, fresh haircuts, and other essentials!!

We also had a very special visitor! ⚾️ The San Diego Padres’ Swinging Friar stopped by to join the fun and send our students into the new school year with some extra school spirit.

Days like this are possible because of your people generosity, your time, partnership, and willingness to show up for our neighbors❤️

To every volunteer, donor, partner, and community member who helped make this possible: thank you!! And to all of our students heading back to school, we’re cheering you on! 📚✨

Our leadership team was in Austin this week at the 2026 UnidosUS Annual Conference, joining affiliates and partners organizations from across the country!

From advancing immigration justice and expanding access to affordable housing to building collective power and connecting with countless folks creating change nationwide…we’re returning inspired, energized, and ready to continue the work here at home.

Congratulations to our fellow CA affiliate, Building Skills Partnership - BSP on being recognized as UnidosUS Affiliate of the Year! 👏

And a heartfelt thank you to Southwest Airlines , the official airline of Chicano Federation, for helping make this opportunity possible. 💙

The work continues and we are so grateful to be part of such a powerful network committed to creating opportunity for our comunidades.

What can happen when a community comes together?

For Elisa and her LTI capstone team, it meant helping turn a long-standing community concern into action.

After listening to residents, organizing support, and advocating alongside community members, they helped move forward improvements to the crosswalk at Newton Avenue and Sampson Street—making the intersection safer for everyone👏🏽

This is what leadership looks like: listening, building relationships, recognizing our power to create change, and uniting people to do it.✊🏽
