Caltrans crews were in Chula Vista recently to clean this encampment along 805 near the Main St ramp. Caltrans partnered with social services to offer help to the four people living here. Crews cleared out 15 cubic yards of debris, enough to fill six full-size pickup trucks.

Today, we remember Jaime Obeso, District 11 Maintenance Leadworker. On June 7, 2011, Mr. Obeso was working along Interstate 8 near the Sunbeam Rest Area in Imperial County when a driver under the influence entered a closure, tragically striking and killing him. 🧡
