Region 14 of the California Democratic Party Region 14 of the California Democratic Party includes Assembly Districts 40, 43, 44 & 46. There are currently 22. Larry Gross is the Region 14 Director.

Region 14 of the California Democratic Party includes Assembly Districts 40, 43, 44 and 46. Region 12 covers the entire San Fernando Valley and parts of the San Clarita Vally in Los Angeles. Regions of the California Democratic Party are defined by Assembly District boundaries. Each Region elects Regional Directors for two-year terms on Saturday of the first Convention held in odd numbered years. Regional Directors shall be elected at Regional Caucuses at the Convention.

Key endorsements for the upcoming election were made at the California Democratic Party's executive board meeting, which wrapped up last Sunday in San Diego.

In November, 14 ballot measures will be presented to 20 million Californians. Party leaders cast votes regarding their stances on the crucial ballot initiatives.

The party also endorsed state Sen. Ben Allen, D-Santa Monica, for insurance commissioner over rival Democrat Jane Kim.

Proposition 40, also referred to as the Billionaire Tax, was among the California Party's endorsements. This is a proposal for a single 5% tax on California billionaires, intended to cover healthcare services that have been affected by federal government reductions.

Democratic leaders at the convention voiced their opposition to Prop. 39, a voter ID measure. This initiative mandates proof of citizenship for voter registration and requires voters to present identification at the polls.

Proposition 44 would impose penalties on Federally Qualified Health Centers that are spending less than 90% of their revenue on program services. At the convention, the California Democratic Party voted to oppose the proposal.
