Exploring the space between order and imagination, where the inner life resists control and remains beautifully alive, Hee Jung Kwon's paintings place small, quietly expressive figures within structured systems that attempt to define and contain. In this in-between space, emotion endures -- playful, vulnerable, and profoundly human. Join us for a reception for the artist on Saturday, August 1st, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We were thrilled to provide this accomplished cutie with her 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten finisher prize, which is this awesome Odi the Coyote backpack stuffed with fun school supplies that you see in these pics! This incredible pint-sized reader, who typically visits our lovely sister branch, the Serra Mesa-Kearny Mesa Library, has achieved so much already and we can't wait to see what she'll do in the future! We are so proud of you, Little R, and happy to share in your achievement! Congratulations to you and your family!
