You can vote up to one time a day in each category from the same email. Thank you to the community for the great support. Come celebrate America's 250th birthday with us at Old Poway Park. Join us for Old Fashioned Fourth of July and celebrate our country’s independence turn-of-the-20th-century style from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. This event will feature patriotic entertainment, free children's crafts, train displays, old-fashioned games and more! Tasty treats and train rides will be available for a nominal fee.

This Saturday only! It’s Poway’s once-a-year “Shred Event” on June 20. Poway residents can stop by the Free Paper Shredding, E-Waste, & Mulch Giveaway at the Hazardous Household Waste Collection Facility between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Shredding: Limit two (2) bankers boxes (10” x 12” x 15”) per household.

E-Waste: Acceptable items include computers, monitors, central processing units (CPUs), laptops, computer components, printers, scanners, fax machines, VCRs, radios, cell phones.

Free Mulch: Available for Poway residents (while supplies last)! This is a self-serve, self-loading, and self-haul service, so please bring your own cans/bags, gloves and shovel. Limit of 3 cans/bags per vehicle. If you plan to haul your mulch in an open truck or trailer, please remember to bring a tarp to cover your material.

Poway’s 2025 Annual Water Quality Report is available online. It provides test results of water quality analysis conducted in 2025 and highlights the extensive monitoring done on tap water for our Poway water customers. The report identifies that drinking water provided by the City of Poway in 2025 met or exceeded all state and federal water quality standards. The report includes a list of water quality test results and tips for how to interpret the data.

Our older adult community is invited to spend the afternoon taking in a good film, delighting in great company, and enjoying complimentary popcorn at this month’s Silver Screeniacs movie screening! 🍿📽️

Join us Thursday, June 18, for a special showing of “Wicked: For Good”! In the conclusion of the smash hit musical, an exiled Elphaba will need to reunite with Glinda to transform herself, and all of Oz, for good. The all-star ensemble includes Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Michelle Yeoh, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang, Bronwyn James, and Jeff Goldblum

All movies are shown at the Mickey Cafagna Community Center. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.; films begin at 1 p.m. This program is for older adults aged 50 and better.

We’re heading back to Zootropolis at tonight’s free Summer Movie in the Park! 🦊🐰🐍

Disney’s “Zootopia 2” starts 15 minutes after sunset (approximately 8:15 p.m.) which means there’s still plenty of time to call in your squad, pack your favorite movie snacks, and slither your way over to Community Park where we have plenty of comfy grass to lounge on. We’ll see you soon!
