Our team recently played an active role in the Gulf Coast Defense Catalyst (GCDC)'s first Industry Day in New Orleans! We joined more than 150 attendees and nearly 100 commercial businesses and startups focused on connecting emerging technology with real warfighter needs. This kind of collaboration creates new pathways for delivering mission-ready information warfare capabilities to our Sailors and Marines while strengthening our regional defense industrial base. We’re proud to see GCDC bringing industry, academia and defense leaders together to accelerate innovation across the Gulf Coast.

Strong partnerships in our local communities matter! Our team recently welcomed City of North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess and his leadership team. Our workforce had the opportunity to showcase the work happening across our historic Navy Yard facilities, from tactical vehicle integration and Fleet C4I modernization to future construction projects.

We're grateful for the opportunity to work alongside our North Charleston partners as we continue building a stronger future for our Navy, our community and our warfighters!

⚓️ Spotted a sleek, solar-powered boat cruising the Charleston Harbor or off-shore lately? That’s our history-making vessel, Lightfish! 🌊
This Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) is operated right here in Charleston by Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic. We are currently conducting routine testing on its advanced autonomous systems.
🏆 Fun Fact: The solar-powered Lightfish made history by completing the fastest known autonomous Atlantic Ocean crossing! It sailed over 4,000 miles from Sullivan's Island all the way to Portugal to participate in NATO exercises. 🇵🇹✈️
Want to know more about NIWC Atlantics maritime assets, the role they play in naval innovation, and what to do if you see it on the water?

We always enjoy getting out and connecting with our maritime partners. Our team recently joined members of the Maritime Association of South Carolina (MASC) to share what we're working on, including an overview of our command and an update from our Forecasting Assessment and Transition Manager, Robert Regal.

We're excited about the opportunities ahead to work with South Carolina's maritime community and find new ways to support our shared mission.

Our goal is always to bridge the gap between complex naval challenges and cutting-edge industry solutions; and the Rapid Acquisition Cell and The Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) N8 Industry Engagement Sessions did just that!

Last week, we welcomed individuals across government, industry, and academia, to collaborate as innovation partners. These engagement sessions were influenced by talented speakers and panelists who set the tone for the capabilities the warfighter needs to be a future focused lethal force.

Thank you to all who participated in this event!

This summer, our team at welcomed students in Virginia and New Orleans for hands-on STEM camps featuring cybersecurity, coding, engineering, NASA's Artemis III mission and interactive science activities that brought innovation to life!

We're proud of the engineers, scientists, military members, government civilians and student interns who volunteered their time to mentor these future innovators. Today's students are tomorrow's problem-solvers who will help strengthen our nation's technological advantage.
