Ten hospital corpsmen were awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal by Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Twentynine Palms commanding officer Capt. Janiese Cleckley during a ceremony Sept. 1, recognizing their actions providing medical support during an emergency in the local community.
Recognized were Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Aiden Keith, Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Lucia Carano, Hospitalman Mykrussell Gonzales, Hospitalman Fernanda Palencia, Hospitalman Tuvu Doan, Hospitalman Christian Fernando, Hospitalman Calvin Dano, Hospitalman Irene Villegas, Hospitalman Kristopher Alvarez and Hospitalman Quoc Tran.
The corpsmen were also congratulated by Rear Adm. Matthew Case, Acting Surgeon General of the Navy, and Force Master Chief Jerry Cantorna, director, U.S. Navy Hospital Corps, during a virtual meeting.
