NASNI VCC Open Weekends for SWIFT Lane Registration

Starting this weekend NBC Visitor Center will be open 1100-1600 on Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August.

In the future, the Visitor Center will be open every First and Third weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, for enrollment. No appointments necessary! We process enrolments in ~2 minutes.

NASNI To Add a SWIFT Lane

SWIFT lanes are built to get you on base faster and more securely. Enrollment in the Naval Air Station North Island (NASNI) biometric SWIFT lanes at the NASNI Visitor Control Center (VCC) will reduce your wait times at the gate. Anyone with a base access ID is eligible.

Starting Monday 7 September, NAS North Island will open an additional SWIFT biometric lane at the front gate.

Biometrics is a program that has the potential to fuel Navy-wide reduction in manpower and base traffic wait times. As with any pilot program, there are issues to work through as we continue to develop the technology and procedures.

The #1 cause of delays at North Island gates is unenrolled individuals waiting at legacy / non-biometric lanes. Enrolled individuals have drastically lower wait times and less impact to the Coronado community.

Consider enrolling today to reduce your wait times.

If you are seeing issues with facial recognition, please stop by the Visitor Center. The team will review your enrollment. Facial recognition is proven to work nearly 100% of the time. If you're not seeing similar results, give us a chance to fix it.

Naval Base Coronado Visitor Control Center Modified Hours

Starting Wednesday, 26AUG, the Visitor Control Center (VCC) at Naval Air Station North Island will be operating on modified hours until further notice.

The VCC will be available to customers from 0700 - 1200 Monday through Friday. We will update once normal operations resume.

NASCAR announces that it will return to Naval Base Coronado in San Diego with the Cup Series and O'Reilly Series in the 2027 season.

Volunteer with Operation Pals

Wednesdays, Sep 9-Oct 14, 1:30-3 pm

Active duty Sailors are needed for 1.5 hours, once a week for 6 weeks at a school right here in Coronado! As a “Pal” you support elementary students who have a deployed parent by playing cards, board games, and outdoor games, participating in arts and craft activities, helping with homework, enjoying snack, and talking with the kids. You will have as much fun as the students! LOAs provided to all volunteers.
