Meet Mark, one of Midway’s passionate Airwing volunteers. Mark works alongside a team of volunteers to clean, maintain and restore our historic aircraft and their components. ✈️

We handed Mark a camera for the day and he took us along for the ride. Luckily, no autopilot was needed. 😉⚓

Last Saturday, our Members joined us on the flight deck for Steel Beach. A night of island vibes, great food, music, fun and one-of-a-kind views.

We loved celebrating our Members and spending a summer evening together aboard Midway. ❤️

Exciting news for the future of Freedom Park!

Check out this clip from NBC 7 San Diego highlighting yesterday’s announcement of the transformational $10 million gift from the McGrath Family Foundation. ⬇️

The McGrath Family Foundation donated $10 million to a landmark in the making next to the USS Midway Museum. NBC 7's Joe Little explains where that gets construction on Freedom Park and how much money still needs to be raised.

The USS Midway Museum is proud to announce a $10 million gift from the McGrath Family Foundation—the largest single gift to Freedom Park to date!

In recognition of this transformational support, the park will be named McGrath Freedom Park at Burnham Navy Pier.

Opening in 2028, Freedom Park will be the largest veterans park on the West Coast and a lasting tribute to our veterans, military families and San Diego’s proud military heritage.

Thank you to the McGrath Family Foundation for helping make this incredible vision a reality! ❤️

What a party at Steel Beach! ⚓☀️ Thank you to all of our USS Midway Museum Members who joined us on the flight deck this past weekend for a night of delicious food and drinks, live music, tropical fun and great company.

Events like Steel Beach are one of our favorite ways to celebrate our incredible Members. We hope you had as much fun as we did.
