Congrats to SSG Arthur J. Valdez, 6252nd USAH 5th Platoon Sergeant, on being selected as the Soldier of the Year for San Diego Chapter AUSA. Awards Luncheon will be held on Tuesday 6 March 2012 at the Navy Anchors Conference Center, 2375 Recreation Way, San Diego, CA 92136. Social Hour will start around 1115 and Awards Ceremony to start at Noon. Ceremony lasts about an hour to an hour and a half. Please comment below if you plan to attend so that we can get an accurate number of reservations.

A huge congrats to SSG John Nunn of the mighty 6252nd USAH for winning the 50K Race Walking Olympic Qualifier this morning in San Diego! He'll be representing America at the 2012 Olympics in London this Summer. He completed 50K in 4:04.38!! He cut about 10 minutes off his personal record too! Thanks to the following Soldiers from our unit for showing up to cheer him on: CPT Stephen Deluna, SSG Jason Bloom, SSG Melissa Lopez, SGT Jessica Rocha, SGT Evelyn Gomez!!! So who's going to London to cheer him on? All you need is a plane ticket and a place to stay, the race is open to the public and will finish in front of Buckingham Palace!!

Reminder - Go to the corner of Mast Boulevard and Magnolia Avenue in Santee today to cheer on SSG John Nunn as he competes for his spot on the U.S. Olympic Team at the 50 km Race Walk Trials this morning! Starts 7:30am(now) and goes until around 11:30am.
