Friends of SDPL University Community Branch

The Friends of SDPL University Community Branch raise money for the San Diego Public Library branch in University City through ongoing daily self-serve book sales, as well as periodic gigantic sales, involving many thousands of volumes, including fiction, biographies, arts and culture, history, religion, business, science, math, self help, cookbooks, travel, foreign language and children's. ook store" is open whenever the library is, with most books priced $.25 to $1.00 and a few coffee table and other specialty books priced slightly higher and perfect as gifts or for a private collection. Videos, DVDs, CDs and books on tape are also available. Payments are on the honor system and are to be placed in the gray metal box on the check-out desk. Funds raised from book sales and memberships by Friends, an entirely volunteer group of local residents, is used to help provide library programs, as well as purchase books and equipment. All monies raised benefit this branch and every dollar earned by the Friends Book Sale is matched by the San Diego Public Library Foundation to fund materials, equipment and programming to UC.
